– Officer K.Foca worked as the Deloitte/The Ridge patrol Officer at the VA Waterfront on the night of 08.02.2022. He received a call on the radio from Surveillance at approximately 03h38 to inform him of a silver Jeep that entered the Deloitte parking area. He then responded and found the vehicle in the parking area.
– The Officer approached the vehicle and asked if he can help them. The driver responded by saying they are looking for a hotel room. The Officer offered assistance and asked them to remain while he finds out for the best place to go. The Officer recognized the driver as the suspect involved in the tampering of a motorbike in Merchant House parking at the VA Waterfront a few days earlier.
– The Officer then informed the surveillance that it was the suspects from the previous incident and the Emergency Response Team responded.
– Five suspects were taken to public side and they were searched. Various items were found in their possession like motorbike keys, tools, knives, a helmet etc. The one suspect was confirmed to be involved in the above incident (INC36742022).
– SAPS were called and the suspects were arrested!
– Great work as the Officer recognized the suspect and stalled them in order for back up to arrive to assist.
